Téléphoner via le Wifi

Bonjour tout le monde,

je tombe ce matin sur un post de Martin Varsavsky, PDG de FON, une société qui cherche à démocratiser considérablement le Wifi et les accès Wifi dans le monde, et à développer de nombreux accès Wifi.

Le principe de la société est le suivant : les gens qui souscrivent à FON décident de partager une partie de leur connexion internet en Wifi pour la rendre publique et accessible gratuitement (si la personne est un "Linus") ou de façon payante (si la personne est un "Bill") -- sachant que les Linus ont accès gratuitement à toutes les bornes FON même celles des Bills.

Ainsi ce matin je tombe sur un post qui annonce que FON va sortir avec Skype une offre qui permettra de téléphoner sur les bornes en accès libre (voir ci-dessous).

Nokia est aussi sur ce segment de la téléphonie en Wifi car il sort actuellement 2 modèles compatibles Wifi (le N92 notamment) qui devraient accueillir le logiciel Skype également.

Free.fr, l'opérateur internet, souhaite aussi s'investir sur ce domaine car il est à ce jour candidat à la quatrième et dernière license UMTS.

La téléphonie est en passe de changer de business model pour le plus grand bonheur de nous, les consommateurs -- enfin ceux qui auront les moyens de se le permettre...
